The Infant and Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, responsive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 0–5. Under the guidance of Title V, CCTR, and CSPP program standards, the teacher plans and implements curriculum, conducts assessments, and provides individualized care and instruction. The role requires collaboration with families and staff, attention to regulatory compliance, and a strong commitment to fostering children’s growth across all developmental domains in alignment with DRDP and CLASS frameworks.The Teacher Aide supports the classroom team in providing safe, nurturing, and engaging care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Under the supervision of the lead teacher, the aide assists with daily routines, classroom activities, and caregiving tasks such as feeding, diapering, and supervision. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting the social, emotional, and developmental needs of young children in accordance with Title V and licensing regulations.
Requirements:
This is a full-time position at a California State-funded early childhood education program operating under Title V, including CCTR (Center-Based) and CSPP (California State Preschool Program) contracts. The center serves infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in a licensed, developmentally appropriate setting and is CLASS-rated to support high-quality teacher-child interactions.
Work takes place primarily in classroom environments, with regular outdoor activity time. Staff are expected to actively engage with children at their physical level, including sitting on the floor, kneeling, standing, and lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds. Daily duties may involve exposure to common early childhood work conditions such as cleaning agents, bodily fluids, and moderate noise levels.
Employees must comply with all health, safety, and licensing regulations, including universal precautions and any applicable public health protocols. Responsibilities include supporting children’s growth across developmental domains, maintaining supervision ratios, diapering and toileting as needed, and ensuring a safe, nurturing learning environment.
For Infant and Preschool Teachers
•Must hold or qualify for a valid Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (Title 5 requirement).
•Minimum of 24 units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD), including core courses in:
•Child growth and development
•Child, family, and community
•Curriculum
•For infant/toddler teachers: must have at least 3 units in infant/toddler development.
•At least six months of experience in a licensed early childhood education setting preferred.
•Knowledge of DRDP, CLASS, and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
•Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
•Must pass all pre-employment requirements, including:
•TB test clearance
•Immunizations (MMR, Tdap, Influenza or declination)
•Criminal background check (Live Scan)
•Health screening clearance

•Minimum of 6 units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD); 12 units preferred.
•For infant/toddler classrooms: coursework in infant/toddler development is strongly preferred.
•Experience working with children ages 0–5 in a licensed or structured setting preferred.
•Ability to assist in implementing daily routines, engaging with children, and supporting teachers in caregiving, supervision, and classroom prep.
•Must demonstrate reliability, a positive attitude, and willingness to grow professionally.
•Must pass all pre-employment requirements, including:

•Maintain accurate and timely observations, assessments, and documentation of children’s progress.
